Sharon A. Beesley – Partner, CEO

Sharon is a co-founder of the BeesMont Group and CEO of BeesMont Law Limited. She practices in all areas of corporate law with particular expertise in investment funds, structured finance, joint venture structures and mergers and acquisitions.

Prior to establishing the BeesMont Group, Sharon spent the first eight years of her professional practice with Linklaters (in London & Hong Kong) where she worked primarily in the fields of commercial property, banking and capital market and banking transactions; after a sabbatical involving cycling from England to the Near East, she worked with Denys Reitz in South Africa, advising on corporate cross-border transactions. Sharon then moved to Bermuda where she was the head of banking at one of the leading Bermuda law firms and the principal external counsel for one of Bermuda’s banks, Bermuda Commercial Bank. In 1997 she co-founded the original ISIS Group which included the ISIS Foundation now known as Adara Development, an international non-profit, which seeks to improve the lives of children and their families in Nepal and Uganda. Sharon was also one of the founders of IKONIC Fund Services Ltd., a licensed Bermuda fund administrator, now owned by the Horseshoe Group.

Sharon has over the last 24 years in Bermuda developed a recognised investment fund practice, particularly with respect to infrastructure and alternative fund strategies. She has also advised on a wide range of corporate transactions including domestic and international mergers and acquisitions and general corporate governance issues.

Sharon is currently a Director of the Board of the Bermuda Monetary Authority, a member of the Asset Management Group, a committee of the Bermuda Business Development Agency (having previously chaired a Bermuda investment funds industry committee) and has served on numerous other voluntary business groups in Bermuda. Sharon is also a member of the BSX Listing Committee.

Sharon is also a director of the publicly listed fund, The China ‘A’ Fund Limited, the CEO of BeesMont Consultancy Limited, a consultancy and management company, and a number of privately owned companies.

Marco Montarsolo – Managing Partner

Marco is a co-founder and Managing Partner of BeesMont Law. He practices in all areas of corporate law and his experience includes a wide scope of corporate work such as continuations, IPOs, exempted partnerships, aircraft leasing, structured finance, insurance captives and mergers and acquisitions.

Marco brings a wealth of knowledge to BeesMont, having previously worked for Lovells in London, U.K. in their commercial property department before being called to the Bermuda Bar in 2003. He then worked for two local Bermuda Law Firms, including Appleby in their Funds and Investment Services Team where he was involved in the creation and provision of legal advice for a variety of structures of mutual funds and segregated account companies. He is involved in advising companies structuring investment products ranging from private equity offerings to institutional funds as well as listings on companies on the Bermuda Stock exchange. In addition he has acted as Liquidator in respect of the voluntary winding up of a range of companies as well as continuations of companies into Bermuda as well as undertaking the role of Managing Director of BeesMont Law.

Marco is also primarily responsible for the management of the corporate services company BeesMont Corporate Services Limited where he oversees the provision of corporate administration to both local and exempt companies.

Saul Froomkin OBE, Q.C. – Partner, Head of Litigation

Saul practices in corporate, commercial and civil litigation, insolvency, insurance and administrative law. He has been actively engaged in the investigation and prosecution of international economic crime, money laundering, narcotics prosecution and extradition for over 25 years. Saul has been invited to present papers on International Economic Crime and Money Laundering in over 50 countries.

After practising law in Manitoba for 8 years, Saul spent the following 9 years in the Government of Canada initially as a Senior Advisory Counsel in the Civil Litigation Section, then as Director or Criminal Law for the Department of Justice. Saul moved to Bermuda in 1978, where he served as Solicitor General from 1978 to 1981 and Attorney General from 1981 to 1991 before joining Mello Jones and Martin. In addition Saul’s professional activities include being Chairman of the International Symposium on Economic Crime in Cambridge, England from 1984 to 2012 and Honorary Canadian Consul to Bermuda from 2001 to 2006.

Saul has been admitted to practice in the Canadian Provinces of Manitoba, Saskatchewan, North West Territories and Yukon Territory as well as Bermuda, Anguilla, England and Wales.

Allan Doughty – Partner, Litigation

Allan practices as a general civil litigator and has argued some of the leading cases involving Bermudian human rights law, medical law and Bermuda’s Constitution. He has appeared at all levels of Court in Bermuda and before various Boards of Inquiry and Tribunals.  Allan also has a special interest in police law and privacy matters.

Before returning to Bermuda in 2004, Allan practiced law in Halifax, Nova Scotia as a general litigator in the areas of personal injury and criminal law.

Allan has written several opinion articles for the Royal Gazette and has provided numerous presentations on the subject of human rights in Bermuda. Allan previously served on the National Accessibility Advisory Council which provided the Minister of Health with advice concerning the rights of disabled persons in Bermuda.

Stephanie Paiva Sanderson – Partner, Corporate

Stephanie joined BeesMont Law in 2010 and practices in all areas of corporate and commercial law with an emphasis on investment funds, mergers and acquisitions, corporate re-organisations  and cross-border transactions.

Stephanie also advises on Bermuda international tax law, compliance, corporate governance and regulatory matters in addition to general corporate matters. She has been the Chairman of the Bermuda Industry/Government Joint Committee on FATCA and CRS since 2015.

Stephanie obtained her LPC with Distinction from BPP Law School in the UK. She is a current Practicing Member of the Bermuda Bar.

Brenda Lehmann – Head of Banking and Secured Financing

Brenda practices in the corporate and commercial area with a particular emphasis on banking and finance transactions in both the local and international areas. In addition, her practice spans the insurance, mergers and acquisitions, construction projects and aviation disciplines. Brenda is a member of the Law Society of Upper Canada (Ontario Bar) and the Bermuda Bar.

Ms. Lehmann has over 20 years of corporate legal experience with more than 12 of those years practicing in Bermuda. Ms. Lehman graduated from the University of Ottawa with a Bachelor of Laws in 1988 and was called to the Ontario Bar in 1990. She articled with the “big five” Canadian law firm of Blake, Cassels & Graydon (Blakes), where she became an associate in 1990 and a partner in 1996. In 2000, Ms. Lehmann relocated to Bermuda to work for Mello Jones & Martin as a Senior Corporate Attorney where she was eventually made a key employee. In Bermuda, Ms. Lehmann developed a wide ranging corporate and commercial practice and has advised on many legal matters including sale of businesses, operating, project and acquisition financings and letter of credit facilities, bank commercial and personal banking documents, mergers and acquisitions, construction projects, insurance matters, hotels & restaurants operations and restructurings, aviation and shipping finance and both solvent and distressed restructurings in the local and international marketplaces.

Simon Davis – Senior Property Counsel

Simon’s practice covers all areas of local residential and commercial property law, including in particular: residential and commercial sales and purchases (both freehold and leasehold); residential and commercial leases; mortgages and structured lending; and condominium development.

In Bermuda, Simon’s previous experience includes working as a Senior Associate at MJM Limited, in the property, trusts and estates team. Prior to moving to Bermuda in 2005, Simon worked as a real estate solicitor in the UK, covering an equally wide range of property work.

Simon was enrolled as a Barrister and Attorney in the Supreme Court of Bermuda in 2008. He was admitted as a Solicitor (not currently practising) of the Supreme Court of England and Wales in 1999 and is a member of the Law Society of England and Wales.

Outside work, Simon’s passions include rebuilding classic cars, property development and riding his cherished Harley Davidson.

Gretchen Tucker – Litigation Attorney

Gretchen’s practice includes all areas of general civil litigation with a focus on contentious and non-contentious employment, immigration and human rights issues involving international commercial institutions, local businesses and professional service organisations.

She was called to the Bermuda Bar in October 2013 and joined BeesMont in January 2017. Prior to joining BeesMont, Gretchen completed her pupillage at Appleby (Bermuda) Limited and was employed as an Associate in their Dispute Resolution department for three years.

Gretchen regularly advises on cybersecurity, data regulation, and privacy law and represents individuals and institutions in Magistrates’ Court and the Supreme Court of Bermuda in connection with debt collection, estate disputes and probate matters.  She has provided training to numerous employers and organisations on human rights and employment law as well as Bermuda’s emerging cybersecurity framework.  Gretchen has further written articles for the Royal Gazette and been a Columnist for the Bermuda Chamber of Commerce´s monthly e-newsletter, The Insider.

Matthew Madeiros – Corporate Attorney

Matthew is an Associate in the firm’s corporate department. He practices in all areas of corporate and commercial law with a particular focus on investment funds, mergers and acquisitions, cross-border transactions, liquidations, incorporations, construction projects, debt recovery and compliance.

Matthew performs a large amount of non-profit and charitable legal work including working with KatKids, a grass-roots volunteer charity which seeks to improve the lives of children in need in Nepal, Southern Africa, and Uganda.

Matthew joined the firm in 2012 and was called to the Bermuda Bar in 2014.

Kit Cunningham – Corporate Attorney

Stephanie Kyme, Cert. ICSA – Manager, Corporate Administration Services

Stephanie Kyme joined the firm in October 2013 as Senior Corporate Administrator for BeesMont Corporate Services Limited, the corporate administration arm of BeesMont Law Limited.

She is responsible for the provision of corporate administration services to exempted and local company clients and has worked in Bermuda for 36 years, the last 14 of which have been in the corporate administration sector. Stephanie comes from Yorkshire in the U.K. and was educated at Bradford Girls Grammar School and the North of England College in Leeds. She holds a Certificate in Offshore Finance and Administration from the Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators (ICSA).

Rovonne D. Sampson, B.A. TEP – Deputy Manager, Corporate Administration Services

Rovonne D. Sampson, started with BeesMont Corporate Services Ltd., on 18th July 2016. Rovonne is a Bermudian having over 15 years of experience in the corporate services industry. Having gained most of her experience with one of Bermuda’s top law firms, Rovonne specialises in the administration of local and exempt companies, mutual funds, investment holding, and insurance companies, and obtained certificates in both Corporate Procedures I & II. Rovonne also specialises in trust administration having obtained her designation as a Trust & Estate Practitioner.

Rovonne is an active member of the Society of Trust & Estate Practitioners, Bermuda Branch, and is a member of the Board of Directors of The Sunshine League, a registered Bermuda Charity.

Michelle Dallas

Michelle Dallas is a qualified Chartered Professional Accountant who joined the BeesMont Law team on a part-time basis to oversee the day-to-day accounting and cash management activities for all members of the BeesMont Group in 2012.

Having qualified with Deloitte in 1995, Michelle then worked with Centre Solutions (Bermuda) Limited supporting their SAP ERP system for their international accounting team including the configuration, documentation, end user training and help desk for all international locations. Subsequently, Michelle accepted a position with Scottish Re as Assistant Controller for the Bermuda holding company, before holding the position of VP Finance with BF&M Limited. She then left full-time employment to support her three children and is thrilled to now work with the dynamic BeesMont Law team on a flexible part-time basis.

Lucy Garca

As a part time consultant, Lucy Garca has provided accounting support to the BeesMont Group since 1999.

Previously, she worked with Sedgwick Group, Centre Re and MISMI Consulting. Today, as Account Administrator, she is responsible for the day to day banking and accounting functions of the BeesMont Group. Lucy has over 25 years experience and brings a wealth of knowledge to her role as a result of her 15 years involvement with the BeesMont Group.

Abbie Mac Eachin

Corporate Executive Assistant for BeesMont Law Limited

Abbie is part of the team responsible for supporting the Corporate Attorneys and the Directors.

In addition, Abbie is currently enrolled in the Chartered Secretaries Qualifying Scheme provided by the Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators (ICSA).

Abbie joined the firm in January 2016.
